November Play Day Swap

Wow!  Just looked at the last day that I blogged, where did all that time go!
November Play Day was absolutely brilliant, as always, although we were a bit thin on the ground this time round!  However,  I spent the day with two other lovely ladies who are part of the Stampin Starlets.

As usual I didn't make a card as my swap because I love to make gifts, especially if they include lots of sparkle!

This time of year it is so easy to get away with lots of sparkle isn't it?

I wanted to make a gift that could be brought out every year and this is what I came up with.

Here are the two Christmas decorations that I came up with, aren't they sparkly! So simple to make, yet really effective.

I placed the decoration inside a box that I had made from Gumball Green SU cardstock and
Winter Frost Speciality DSP and included a couple of lovely smelling Christmasy candles.
The foam ring was covered using the gorgeous Cherry Cobbler 1" stitched edged Grosgrain ribbon, secured with pins.    The leaves were made using the Little Leaves Sizzlit cut from Silver Glimmer card. The flowers were made using the Boho Blossoms Punch and the Blossom Party Originals die.  The small flower was made using the Itty Bitty punch and secured using a silver brad.    The sentiment was from the More Merry Messages stamp set

In all its glory on the Christmas tree x

It was so very easy to make and I was very pleased with end result, as I hope my recipients were!!
Will be posting the swaps I received very soon.
Enjoy your day

For you.....

Today I thought I would make some small 3" x 3" cards only because I purchased the little envelopes last week and fell in love with them!

I found that the lovely elegant image from the Morning Meadow hostess stamp set fitted perfectly on this little card.

Once again a very quick, simple card.
I stamped the image using Baked Brown Sugar, Soft Sky and Coastal  Cabana inks finishing off with a lovely bow using the silver ribbon topped off with a Rhinestone.

This would be lovely presented in a small hand made & decorated box too.  My next project!

Playday Oct 2013 - Swaps

As usual we had a great day, with lots of good company, inspiration and lots of chat!

I would like to share the swaps that the talented ladies presented me with.

Sarah's  swap using her favourite stamp set Stampin' Up! Gorgeous Grunge.  Loved the colour combo on this one.
Liz's card was once again using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and the owl punch.  Clever Liz!... very creative

Lesley's  swap was a show stopper!  This 3d star is right up my street so to speak. stamped and embossed in silver, onto silver card stock.  Such a brilliant idea which can be used as a festive decoration on the Christmas tree or on its own.   If you wish to see how to make this, Lesley has been kind enough to post this on her blog lesleyscraftroom.blogspot.com
Last but definitely not least, Ros presented us with this gorgeous tea light holder which she had decorated using the same versatile Star stamp that Lesley had used on her swap.

Well there you have it.
I will be back to share with you the make and takes that we shared at our play day.

Flower Shop & Warmest Wishes

Hope you are enjoying your day.

I just fancied getting out my favourite colours again!

Stampin'Up has sooo many lovely and very different flower stamps, punches and dies and that is just perfect for me because I just love flowers (9 times out of 10 I land up buying my own, except maybe on birthdays and anniversaries).
On this card I have used two very different flower stamps.  The large background blue flower is from the Betsy Blooms stamp set and the yellow flowers were stamped using the Flower Shop stamp set and punched with the co-ordinating punch.  Love the matching punches and dies, just makes your end product looking so professional.   I used the iridescent ice embossing powder  on white whisper card then cut the leaves using the  Sizzlets Little Leaves.  So I have my fav colours AND bling!  The sentiment was from the Blooming with Kindness stamp set.  Ink colours are Crushed Curry and Coastal Cabana.

Thank you.....

A little Thank You.. card which I have sent to my new customer who found me on the DBWS.  I was thrilled to see that the demo finder was working for me!
Although I haven't been able to communicate directly with my customer, I just wanted to let her know that I appreciated her order.
My two favourite colours are yellow and blue so obviously I set about making my thank you card using them and bling, of course, keeping well and truly in my comfort zone especially after play day when continually taken out of my comfort zone!

I loved being able to use the envelope liner thinlet die,I think it really gives the card, style!

Thank you for stopping by.

October - team play day swaps

Today I thought I would share the swap that I made for my fellow play mates.

Once again I found it strange prepping these when the sun was blazing outside!

I think my teamies now realise that I love to make little gifts as the swap rather than just a card.  A gift , I feel,  is more personal.

Firstly I had to be brave and have a go at decorating the candle!  I was terrified of doing this but I really shouldn't have worried so much because in fact it was very easy.

I chose the Festive Flurry stamp set to decororate my candle and the little gift bags.

With Coastal Cabana ink I stamped the image on to tissue paper, then cut them out using the Festive Flurry framelit dies.  The next step would be placing the tissue image, printed side up, on to the candle gently smoothing it out.  I then used a piece of wax paper and held it around the candle with the two edges slightly overlapping so that I could hold each edge and be able to hold the candle still whilst I was heating with the heat tool.  It only takes a few seconds after you have heated your image and as if by magic the tissue is set into the candle.

Of course it was then time to bling it up!  You know me, bling mad!

As you can see I then set about decorating these cute little bags which I had purchased quite a while ago and which were the perfect size for my decorated candle.

I used the same stamp set and ink pad to stamp out the Festive Flurry image.  I used the gorgeous Silver Glimmer paper as the background image and the Frosted Finishes embellishments to complete the decoration.
The sentiment was from the Chalk Talk stamp set and I used the Extra Large Oval punch to cut it out. Then used the silver ribbon to attach the sentiment.

I must say, I was really pleased with the end result as I hope my teamies were!

October Play Day M&T

October play day was, once again, a brilliant day.  I am so lucky to have met such lovely ladies through Stampin'Up!

My M&T was, as seems to be the way with me at the moment, a quick, easy card!

I loved the simplicity of this one.  Two of my favourite things, monochrome and glitter (Bling with a capital "B") !

The sentiment was from the More Merry Messages, the leaves were made using the Sizzlets Little Leaves, the berries were made using the eyes from the Owl Punch!

I will be posting all the other M&T's that we were given today.  All equally gorgeous and you will notice that each one of us has a different style.  Such a lot of talented ladies.  Love them all!!

Thank you for stopping by.

September Play Day

Today's post should have been done weeks ago but hey, better late than never AND it is worth waiting for!

As always we had a brilliant day, sharing, crafting, eating & chatting.  The perfect way to spend any day.
Lesleys Swap with matching envelope.  Absolutely loved the colours and the fact that the stamped image came off of the page.   Not something that I find easy to do!!  Of course there was a touch of bling.
Roz made us this really cute mouse that can be used as a book mark.  Really good idea and soooooo cute.
Really enjoyed making this card which was made by Roz who always comes up with different styles of cards. Bright and bold with lots of texture.
Lesley designed these lovely cards for our M&T.  As usual making me come out of my comfort zone!
This very elegant card swap from Liz was gorgeous, my very favourite colour with beautiful velum flowers with bling. Perfect!
Last but not least was Liz's M&T.  Another lovely card and just my style ,one colour only and using the lovely clear button with a punched itty bitty flower in the centre and of course with a bit bling to finish.

What a lovely way to spend a day eh?  Joining Stampin'Up really was the best thing I ever did!

Tomorrow is the long awaited play day again and I can't wait.  Will post all the lovely inspiration soon.

Enjoy the weekend

Festive flurry

Hoping you are enjoying your day.

I couldn't wait to get my hands on the Festive Flurry set, as soon as I set my eyes it, I had to have it.
As you may have guessed by now, I LOVE anything that glitters and this set just calls out for glitter!

Unfortunately you cannot see the shimmer on this card but I can assure you that every layer is glittered!

This was my very attempt at using this set and I am now on a mission to try and make lots of different cards / decorations using it. So watch this space.

The ink pad used was Bermuda Bay.  The colour is gorgeous.  I used the Iridescent Ice embossing powder on the Whisper White which really gave it a great sparkle.  In the centre I used a Vintage Faceted Designer button with a silver brad to hold the whole decoration together.  You will notice that to give the decoration dimension, I scored each leaf in "river & valley" folds.
I finished off the card with a sentiment from the More Merry Messages stamp set.

    From Lesley to me

Each month four of the Starlets teamies post a swap off to one of the other four.  Each month we swap with someone different.   It's a great way of getting inspiration and let's face it even in the world of technology we all still love to receive a card in the post!

It was Lesley's turn to post me a swap and what a lovely swap it was too!

It was definitely right up my street with lots of lovely sparkle.  Don't you think it is a fab card?

    September Swaps for my teamies

    Good morning

Monday morning, mmmm not feeling much like doing anything today at work, wish I could be tucked up on my sofa with a warm quilt and a milky coffee!

    If only.......

Anyway, today I would like to share the swaps that I made for my teamies at our play day yesterday.
It was, as always, a great day full of inspiration, chatter, coffee and making me step out of my comfort zone!

Wished that one of our teamies (you know who you are!) had been there,  then the day would have been ever better but hey ho, we were thinking of you (and your ears may have been burning a little!).

I found these lovely little buckets from a well known crafting outlet which just begged to be filled with flower bulbs and decorated.

    So off I went......

I wish I had spent more time "fluffing up" the flowers on top before snapping away with the camera.  The flowers here look very flat but when I first placed them on top they actually looked like a flower!
    Never mind.

I must say I was pleased with the outcome and I just hoped that the teamies would be happy with them too!

All materials used were from SU.
Ink:    Melon Mambo (to colour the tissue paper flowers)
    Designed Series Paper:  Gingham Garden
Embelishments:    Burlap Trim, Antique Brads, Very Vintage Designer Buttons, Linen thread, Tissue paper

Thank you for stopping by today.

Remember if you wish to purchase any of the products used, just press "Shop Now" on the sidebar and it will take you directly to my online SU shop.

    Enjoy your day

    Swaps for August team meet

Bit late for this post I know but time has run away from me lately, what with holidays, grandchildren etc!  You know what I mean!

I also have lots of extra house guests with me at the moment and it is very difficult to get into my craft room!

I thought it would be better late than never.

My swap had to be a very simple and quick to make and I thought my design would be good to show the new In-Colours too.

The new In Colours being, Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding & Strawberry Slush.  The flower was from Flower Shop stamp set and then cut out using the matching die.  The leaves were cut using the Sizzlits Little Leaves and the main aperture was cut using the Decorative Label punch.  The sentiment is from the lovely set of "Lots of Thanks" stamp set.  Lastly, just had to include the bling, rhinestones.

    Thank you for stopping by.

Remember, if you wish to order any of the products that Stampin'Up! has to offer, just click on the right hand bar "SHOP NOW" which will take you directly to my on-line shop.

Team Play Day Make & Takes July 2013

Today I am sharing with you the Make & Takes from my crafty friends at our Play Day on Sunday last week.
Our play day consists of lots of coffee, biscuits, cake (or fruit for us slimmers)  chat and crafting.  I absolutely love getting together with my fellow demos to share, share, share.  Thank you ladies once again for a fab day.

    Right,  on to the cards..........

Lesley's absolutely gorgeous monochrome card - right up my street.  I love the style of this card and they way everything just goes together.
Liz's fabulous card using the Flower shop stamp & punch kit which I shall definitely be purchasing.  Green not my normal colour choice but really liked this card.
Finally, Sarn's make and take.  As I have said before, she does like a bit of paper folding!  Lovely, colours, lovely stamps and just a really lovely idea.

So there you have it, our play day complete.

    Enjoy your week.

Team Swaps on Play Day July 2013

Time for me to share my crafty friends' swaps made for our play day last Sunday.

Lesley's swap which we had a helping hand in putting together. Lesley showed us the paper folding to create the chevron.  Brilliant idea.  Lovely simple but very effective card.

Liz's gorgeous creation, the leaf was smothered in glitter - fab  - the acorn was glossy giving it real dimension.  Lovely autumn card.  Lovely colours

Sarns lovely ticket holder.  I've concluded that she likes a bit of paper folding.  Sarn always uses lovely colours and creates very clean and simple cards.  Pic below was inside the holder with a couple of tags beautifully decorated.

Can't wait for the next play day to see what wonderful swaps are created.  However, I am going to have to wait until the END of September now as I will be on my holidays when the next play day is held.
