Paper Craft Crew Sketch 31

What a great time I've had this evening using my new goodies that I received from Mr UPS!  I absolutely love the Subtles Collection.  They are right within my comfort zone and sometimes you just have to be in the comfort zone don't you!
I was thinking of actually entering the challenge this week so I will be brave and go for it.

Freshly Made Sketches No. 74

Hope you have all had a lovely weekend.  It 's turned really cold eh,  all I've wanted to do is wrap up warm, eat lots of stew and watch tv!  No wonder I'm putting on weight.  Oh well the spring will soon be upon us and I can start eating less comfort food and more salads!

Well, I've had a very gentle reminder from a crafting playmate today that I should be waking up and rising to the challenge!  So here is my offering this week.

Pop over to Freshly Made Sketches blog and see all of the other entries for this week.  Some very talented ladies out there.

Until next week.

Take care

Monochrome

My word hasn't it got cold again.  I wish it would clear off and let the spring arrive!  Mind you it's nice being able to get up in the daylight and coming home from work in the daylight, so spring is definitely on its way.

Today's card is a monochrome one.  When I first saw the Summer Starfruit colour I wasn't all that sure I would be using it.  I now can't put it down!
Once again the Flowering Flourishes stamp set was used!  I stamped using versamark ink then embossed using the Sugar & Spice scented embossing powder (no longer available) because the colour was almost a perfect match.

The butterflies were from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and punched out with the Elegant Butterfly punch.  The Bitty Banners framelits and the Bitty Banners stamp set was used for the "For You" sentiment.

The heart is from the Hearts a Flutter framelits.

Although I didn't capture it very well on the photo, I used pearls, glue pen and dazzling diamonds glitter for the bling!  Believe me, it sparkles!   You just have to have bling!

Hope you all have a lovely day. After all the weekend is almost here.

Take care

For my friend

When I arrived home from another busy day at work today there was a large envelope on my kitchen table.  I opened it very quickly as I recognised the writing on the address label.  It was from my dearest friend.  She had kindly found and sent me a publication that we had both been looking for.   So here is the card that I have made for her to thank her for her kindness.
I wish I had more time to craft.  However, you do have to be careful what you wish for eh?  I'm so thankful that I have a full time job to enable me to buy all my crafting products! So I will just have to make time to craft!

Right I had better stop talking and get on with my crafting.

Take care

Freshly Made Sketches 73 - oops missed it!

Wow, what a busy weekend I have just had.  Granddaughters (8 & 7)  arrived on Friday after school and I dropped them off to their mum on Sunday at 4.15pm!  They have completely worn me out.  Unfortunately my hubby was really poorly over the weekend, so it was just me and the girls.

Anyway, today's card was going to be my entry into Freshly Made Sketches no. 73 but unfortunately I ran out of time to put in up on their website  :(.   Oh dear..... time just keeps running away.   Never mind, thought I would share with you anyway.
As you have probably noticed, I love the Flowering Flourishes that I have used and the Papillon Potpourri butterfly stamp and punch.    The cardstock & inks used were Summer Starfruit, Raspberry Ripple and Gumball Green.   I also used the Perfect Polka Dots folder to add another bit of dimension.
The sentiment was from Friendly Phrases stamp set from the Spring/Summer catalogue.
Of course there had to be some rhinestones for the usual bling.

Hope you have enjoyed your day.

Thanks for stopping by!

Flowering Flourishes

Well, how has your day been?  Mine has been very busy but also very tiring.  Already looking forward to the weekend!
Today's card was done as a bit of an experiment.  Firstly I  stamped the Flowering Flourishes with versamark ink and embossed using my white embossing powder.  Once it had cooled down I randomly sponged on the primrose petal ink.   I then splashed the card with a little bit of water and dabbed all over with a piece of kitchen paper.   I made sure that I removed the ink from the embossed flower with a tissue then dried it all with a blast of the heat gun. I then stamped the butterflies from the Papillion Potpourri stamp set and greeting from the Friendly Phrases stamp set.  I am really quite pleased with this one being though it was an "experiment".

Hope you enjoy the rest of your evening.

I finished off the card using the pearl embellishments.

Bloomin' Marvelous Make N Take

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  I can't believe how cold it is today.
Luckily I am tucked away in my craft room all snuggled up watching Harry Potter!

Thought I would share the make n take I took to our Stampin' Starlets meeting last week.

I chose to use the Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set from the SAB catalogue and the "label" was made  from the Hearts a Flutter framelits from the Spring/Summer catalogue.

This card was a bit of a challenge for me, as my friends know,  I am not very comfortable doing "random" stamping!
Its a very simple technique that can be used using lots of different stamps.

I stamped and cut out three extra flower heads and 1 set of leaves to give the card some dimension.
Of course, there are some sparkles on the card, you just have to don't you!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Freshly Made Sketches No 72

Hope you have all had an enjoyable week and that you have had plenty of time to be creative.

I wanted to share with you my entry into Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.
I enjoyed doing this one.  I love the new Design Series Papers in the new Spring/Summer catalogue.
The inner circle was made from punching a flower from the Tea for Two DSP using the 1 3/4" punch. The other papers used were from Print Poetry DSP pack and the blue printed paper was from the Parker's patterns DSP, all on a Very Vanilla card base.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Stampin Stars Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin' Stars Blog Hop!
You may have arrived from Sarah's ( http://stampingobsession.com ) blog if you started from the beginning of the hop!

I'm going to show you some of the cards I have been working on using products from the gorgeous new Spring/Summer Catalogue which is now available!

The first set of cards are small 4" x 4" cards which I will be using to give to some special friends made through Stampin' Up!  A quick and easy card.
Stamp Set: Feel Goods
Designer Series Paper sets:   SP Sunshine & Sparkles, Parkers Patterns, Sycamore Street                                            (from SAB) and Silver Glimmer paper
Cardstock: Whisper White
Inks: Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals,  Gumball Green, Midnight Muse & Summer Starfruit
Framelits Labels collection
Embellishments  - Neutral Buttons, Pearls

I love the new laser print hearts, so easy to use and very effective.  I layered one of the laser cut hearts on top of one of the Artisan  embellisment doily which I also love!   So many lovely products in the Spring/Summer Catalogue.

Products Used:
Card:  Whisper White
Paper:  More Amore Speciality DSP Laser-cut heart
Ink:    Raspberry Ripple, Midnight Muse
Framelits Dies:  Hearts a Flutter
Stamp set:  Hearts a Flutter
                  Bloomin Marvelous (SAB brochure)

Embellishments:    Rhinestones

My last two cards were my favorite makes.  I used the framelits to die cut the large heart from the base card and placed some More Amore DSP behind it.   I stamped one heart then masked the second heart.  Stamped the words, added some rhinestones and voila, done.
With this card I also cut out the heart using the framelit die and placed another piece of the More Amore DSP.  The heart that was cut out was then inked around the edge and placed over the cut out heart using sticky pad to give it dimension.  I then stamped another heart and added the word "love" and attached to the heart.  Stamped "You are simply Wonderful" the added a couple of rhinestones.

Products Used:
Card:   Very Vanilla
Paper:  More Amore Speciality DSP
Ink:  Raspberry Ripple, Midnight Muse
