Playday Make & Takes Jan 14

Well our January play day finally arrived after the long Christmas break.  As always I had a great time.
Today I would like to share the Make & Takes that we were tasked with.

Lesley's brain teaser  - great idea and folds flat for posting. Has so many different ways of decorating.
Liz's gorgeous card - very elegant and very much up my street - Apart from the tearing which I was not comfortable doing!

Sarah's tricky (for me) card.  I landed up putting the sentiments the wrong way round but hey, it still looked good.
Loved making all of these on Sunday.  We all have such very different styles. The other ladies always take me out of my comfort zone in one way or another but  secretly, I love the challenge!

Really looking forward to next months play day.

Take care

Anniversary card

I wanted to share with you our 30th Wedding Anniversary card from our 9 year old granddaughter yesterday.

I was gobsmacked that she designed and put this together all by herself.

The words inside read " To nanny & grandad"
Congratulations, you both are kind and joyful and you do everything to make me happy"
I cried!

Didn't she do well!  I may well let her into my craft room and let her loose on my SU products.....mmmm not sure I'm quite ready to share just yet!!

Enjoy your evening

Inspire Create Dream project - Peeping Owl!

Yahoooooo it's Friday!
You may have noticed that I love to craft but not always making just cards.  Although I love to make cards, I get much greater pleasure from doing 3d craft, especially if they are pressies!
Today I thought I would share a little project that I did last week that was going to be a prototype as a gift.
So I came up with this little project.  Hope you like.

The box which contains the little gift. I used some of the new DSP Sweet Sorbet which is coming out soon in the upcoming promotion, Sale-A-Bration where you can get lots of free goodies.  Details soon.....

The following two pics are of the lid having been moved.  The reason for two pics is so that you can see the lovely sponge coloured card attached to the front of the box.  I loved the effect sponging three colours of SU inks, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding and Soft Sky and then glittering them up!

Here's the little gift inside. Can you see the peeping owl!  Oh I loved putting this one together. As you can see a polystyrene flat backed ring has been covered in the gorgeous burlap ribbon and secured with pins at the back.

I then set about decorating it using my favourite bigz flower die and little leaves embosslit then using lots of glittery bling to finish it off

Here's just a couple of pics to show him off!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today.  Please feel free to comment!

My play day swap Jan 14

Today I wanted to share the swap that I had made for my fellow play dayers on Sunday!
I wanted to use some of the fabulous new products from the upcoming Spring occasions catalogue and the SAB promotion. (coming very soon!)
So I came up with these.   A set of four  4" x 4" cards housed inside a matching box. The DSP Sweet Sorbet matched perfectly, of course, with the Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding card stock.

Waiting to be opened
All revealed

These cards were a joy to make.  I love small cards and the new stamp set, Springtime Hello, was just right to use on two of them.
Of course each card had some form of bling on it.

All the products used were from Stampin' Up

My November M&T's at play day

Better late than never so here is my Make & Take for the November play day.

When I first saw the Lovely as a Tree stamp set, I wasn't immediately drawn to it, in fact I skipped over the page very quickly thinking that I probably wouldn't use that set very much!  It wasn't until one of my customers purchased the set and showed me some of her creations, I knew I had to get it!

Unfortunately you can't really see that the trees are gold embossed, as is the Christmas sentiment.  It was just a very simple, quick card and one that could (will !) be replicated for my own cards this year.  I added the little pine cone stamp just to add a tiny bit of colour to the white card.
Well that's it for today.  Thank you for stopping by

Today I am going to share with you Liz's make & take from our November play day.   I could have just left it in my files but I thought that along with Lesley's M&T they were too gorgeous not to share!  I'm sure you will agree.

I really loved this one, so rustic!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Postal swap

Hi, been a while eh.  Unfortunately family needs had to come first but Im glad to say I am back!

This first post is a copy of my postal swap for Lesley from November!   I had forgotten to photograph the actual card that I sent to Lesley so made this one.

In fact it isn't an exact copy because Lesley's card base was Crumb Cake cardstock and not Very Vanilla like it is on this card!

Used lots of gold embossing on this card and it has actually given me the inspiration to do more embossing.

 Thanks for stopping by.
