SAB Sweet Sorbet gifts for Play day Feb 14

Playday finally arrived on Sunday!  Boy was I excited as I was going to be meeting up with my crafty friends for a day of crafty play.
I thought that I would use products from the new Spring/Summer catalogue and the fabulous Sale-a-Bration promotion products.
I made these little 4" x 4" card holders for my playmates.  I covered them using the Sweet Sorbet papers from the SAB and the new Spiral Flower Originals die from the Spring/Summer catalogue to create the flower on the front.  The sentiment came from the new Peaceful Petals stamp set.

The different colourways
Couldn't part with this one!  This one was mine as it was in my favourite colour using my favourite Bigz die !

Inside the card holder I placed two cards for the playmates to decorate as they wished.  The base card was made using my favourite technique of the day, sponging different colours on a piece of card, covering with versamark ink then adding Iridescent Ice embossing powder and then heat embossing to give a glorious sparkly background card!! I think you can just about make out the glitter effect in the pics.

As usual I had great pleasure in making and giving these gifts to my crafty friends.

Looking forward to next time girls.

Monthly postal swap Jan 14

Each month a small group of us have a postal swap.  This is my swap for January.

Think I am managing to get to grips with the "distress" look.
I love the delicate flowers from the Morning Meadow set and the new Dictionary stamp set, just so versatile!

Your kindness makes such a difference

At our last play day Lesley showed us a card that she had received as her swap.  I just loved the idea so much that I just had to have a go myself.

Will definitely be using this technique again.

My play day, make n take, Jan 14

Playday came around at last, was beginning to have withdrawal symptoms!
Todays offering was my Make & Take for my playmates.
I love the two colours I chose to use, Crisp Cantaloupe and Coastal Cabana, together they work beautifully.  Unfortunately my camera work doesn't do them proper justice!
I layered my whisper white base card with Coastal Cabana.  I then heat embossed some vellum using the En Francais stamp with white embossing powder and adhered to the card.
I heat embossed the Papillon Potpourri butterfly twice on vellum.  I also heat embossed the Chalk Talk tag.
Im not sure if you can see but the top butterfly has been coloured using Crisp Cantaloupe ink from the backside to give it a muted look.  Finished off with, of course, rhinestone bling!!

Quite an ornate looking card and not normally something I do!

Sundays Project

This morning, I started out wanting to do some distressing on a card that I was making but kept having to fumble around in a box looking for my finger daubers.  Feeling quite frustrated,  I decided to make a box to put them in,  that would give me easy access to them!  This is what I came up with.

I made the box using my score board and covered with the new SAB Sweet Sorbet paper
Now I can get to my daubers!

Afternoon well spent I think!

Thank You Lesley....

Better late than never, again!
I know, I am way behind on my blogging but hopefully that will be a thing of the past!
Today I want to share my  Christmas gift from Lesley.

A gorgeously colourful sparkly cracker tied with shimmery ribbon
Made personally for me because it had my name on it! Wonderful idea
I opened the cracker very carefully because I wanted to save it to display.  Inside was this absolutely fantastic little lamp!  Who would have thought ?!   It has had plenty of use in my craft room!

Well there you are, I was a very lucky girl eh?  Such lovely friends who are very creative!
